Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to design, develop and evaluate therapy services for students under an IEP to meet their speech and language needs.

The role requires a Master’s in speech pathology, CCC-SLP, AZ SLP license, AZ Ed SLP certificate, and AZ IVP fingerprint clearance. It supports a 9.5-month calendar with FTE from 1.0 to 7.5 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP).
• Active Arizona Speech-Language Pathology license.

Job description

Summary: Designs, develops and evaluates Speech and Language therapy services for an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to meet the specific needs of students who qualify for speech and language therapy services.

Minimum Requirements

• A Master’s or more advanced degree, from an accredited institution, in speech pathology or communication disorders.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language Hearing Association
• Must hold current Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) Speech-Language Pathology License
• Arizona Department of Education Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Requirements Prior to Start Date

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Valid Driver’s license (Arizona Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire)
• MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1
• Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1

• Location: Site - Exceptional Education Department - District Wide - Sites May Vary
• FTE: 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
• Work Calendar: 9.5 month
• Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
• Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.
