Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in Norwood, MA is seeking an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist to provide home and community-based services to infants and toddlers birth to three. You will partner with families to tailor services grounded in evidence-based practice.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help develop IFSP goals, coach parents, and deliver individual and group interventions across home and community settings.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • ASHA CCC credential.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for birth to three with parent coaching.
  • Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan.
  • Partner with families in the development of IFSPs to identify goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child’s development and advocacy for the child.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence using Thom electronic documentation.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or at risk.
  • Work in home and community settings.

This position offers a salary range of $62,000 to $75,000. Actual pay will be based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Thom Child & Family Services located in Norwood, MA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team.

As an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. You will partner with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through this collaborative process, you ensure families’ priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
  • Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
  • Partner with families in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognition, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication.
Position Requirements:
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA).
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
