Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in Westfield, MA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for Early Intervention to provide home and community-based services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.

As an SLP, you will work within a multidisciplinary team, partner with families using a parent coaching model, develop IFSPs, and monitor progress. Licensing, ASHA CCC, and CF eligibility are required, with a strong commitment to culturally humble, family-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA CCC credential or CF eligible.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Provide child and family centered services using parent coaching model.
  • Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan.
  • Partner with families in the development of IFSPs to identify goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence using the Thom electronic documentation system.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers birth to three with developmental delays or at risk.

This position offers a salary range of $64,000 to $69,000. Actual pay will be based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

As an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. You will partner with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through this collaborative process, you ensure families’ priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Position Responsibilities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
  • Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
  • Partner with families in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognition, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication.
Position Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA).
  • Or CF eligible
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
