Job summary

The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society in Rapid City, SD, seeks a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech and swallowing disorders. The role includes developing individualized treatment plans, providing therapy, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Licensed SLP with state licensure is required; CFY/ASHA CCC is preferred if applicable. BLS certification is required or obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Hold ASHA CCC or be pursuing CFY where applicable.
• Obtain and maintain required department competencies and certifications.
• BLS for health care providers required or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or exams.
• Develops individualized treatment plans based on diagnoses.
• Provides speech and language services and monitors progression.
• Educates clients on therapeutic exercises and provides consultation.
• Ensures all standards and quality requirements are met.
• Treats individuals of all ages when applicable.
• Documents in accordance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Interacts with providers, case managers, payers and others.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students.
• Offers ongoing education and training to peers.
