Job summary

PACS is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients, coordinate with families and physicians, and maintain complete medical records. The role includes supervising CFY/Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants and providing ongoing staff training.

Responsibilities include rapid evaluation after referral, developing treatment plans, and documenting patient progress while ensuring compliance with state practice acts and payer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in SLP and licensure in the state where services are provided.
  • If not licensed where practicing, must have documented supervised practicum, years of SLP service, and passing national exam in SLP.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of referral with documented justification for delays.
  • Develop treatment plans and obtain physician approval for services.
  • Treat patients as per the physician plan and document progress.
  • Supervise CFY/Speech-Language Pathology Assistants in direct patient care.
  • Communicate with supervisor and health team about patient progress and plans.
  • Record evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, and recertifications per policy and board requirements.
