Job summary

Western Slope Health Center in Placerville, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (CF) to join our rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate to receive mentorship, develop clinical skills, and make a meaningful impact on residents’ communication, cognition, and swallowing.

Under supervision, you will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and families.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Eligible for California Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow licensure.
  • Eligible to complete CCC-SLP requirements.
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred (Net Health and PointClickCare experience is a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential under physician orders.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide treatment for communication, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and families on treatment strategies, safety, swallowing precautions, and home programs.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation using electronic medical record systems.
  • Assist with restorative nursing education and staff in-service training.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and rehabilitation program development.
