Job summary

National Heritage Academies seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support students in a K-8 setting in Winston-Salem, NC. The SLP will assess, treat, and monitor communication needs and collaborate with school teams to implement effective IEP goals.

You will work with administrators, teachers, and families to ensure access to appropriate instruction and services while maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines. National Heritage Academies is an equal‑opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience working with at-risk student populations
  • Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment
  • Familiarity with IEP development, special education compliance, and collaborative service delivery models

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions
  • Conducting speech and language evaluations and contributing to assessment planning as part of the special education process
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP
  • Providing specially designed instruction to meet the unique communication needs of students through a variety of service models.
  • Documenting service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines
  • Consulting with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments
  • Maintaining accurate and up-date records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
