Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This in-person, school-based role in Tacoma, WA offers up to $45/hour as a W-2 employee.

You will work with students in public schools, supporting IEPs and collaborating with supervising SLPs. The ideal candidate holds an SLPA license in Washington or is willing to obtain it, has completed 100 clinical hours, and possesses a related degree or SLPA program.

• Active Washington State DOH SLPA license or willingness to obtain immediately.
• Completion of 100 clinical hours.
• Completion of an SLPA program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

About the Role:

Ampersand Therapy is a therapist-founded, woman-owned company seeking full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an in-person, school-based position supporting students in public school districts.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language therapy to students
• Support implementation of IEPs and complete documentation
• Collaborate with supervising SLPs and the school special education team
• Deliver services in compliance with district and state guidelines

Requirements:

• Active Washington State DOH SLPA license (or willingness to obtain immediately)
• Completion of 100 clinical hours
• Completion of an SLPA program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Must complete fingerprinting/background check prior to start
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred but not required
