Job summary

Hopedale Public Schools seeks a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for Memorial Elementary School in Hopedale, MA. You will work under a licensed SLP to deliver high-quality speech therapy to students from K through 6th grade.

Qualifications

Job Description

Hopedale Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) at Memorial Elementary School.

In this role, you will work closely under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high‑quality speech and language therapy to students from K through 6th grade. Your primary focus will be implementing treatment plans, tracking student progress, and helping students overcome communication barriers to thrive academically and socially.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct speech‑language therapy sessions with individual students or small groups based on established Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Document student performance, collect data during sessions, and report findings to the supervising SLP to help adjust treatment plans.
• Prepare creative therapy materials, games, and visual aids. Assist with configuring and maintaining Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
• Maintain open communication with the supervising SLP, classroom teachers, and school staff to support student accommodations.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records and logs in accordance with Medicaid, school district policies, and HIPAA/FERPA regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited SLPA program, or a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• Current or eligible for MA SLPA Licensure/Registration.
• ASHA SLPA certification (C-SLPA) is preferred but not required.
• Strong organization, patience, and a passion for working with children with diverse learning and communication needs.
• Appropriate Department of Elementary and Secondary Education(DESE) and/or State of Massachusetts licenses are required
