Become part of our team and join our mission to make life healthier for everyone in our community!**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering speech/language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders, as referred by a licensed provider.* Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.* Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.* Assist to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service.* Participate in operational aspects, performance improvement, and Quality.* Improvement activities within the department. Provide input in formulating budget, assist in evaluation of departmental performance, and take action to remain in budget guidelines.* Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis.* Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs, both at the departmental and organizational level.**REQUIREMENTS**Licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech Language Pathologist,ANDMaster’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association,ANDA Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.**ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER**As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
