Job summary

Houston Physicians Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Full Time Speech/Language Pathologist to deliver evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy for patients, collaborating closely with physicians and care teams. Qualifications

  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology curriculum.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication with patients and physicians.
  • Excellent organizational skills and accurate documentation for billing purposes.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered speech and language therapy as prescribed by the physician.
  • Conduct evaluations, design and supervise treatment programs, and update patient records.
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to ensure correct billing and timely claims.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to ensure a safe, clean facility.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Participate in facility in-service activities and educational services.

Speech/Language Pathologist at Houston Physicians Hospital

Will have responsibility for daily patient speech and language pathology treatment involving frequent phone and in person interaction with both patients and physicians. Will provide patient care as prescribed by the referring physician, including evaluation and assessment, design of treatment programs, implementation and supervision of treatment programs and educational services. Will also maintain and update patient case files.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in supervised clinical activities as deemed appropriate by the supervising Speech Pathology evaluation and treatment as ordered by prescribing physician.
  • Participateintreatmentreview,progress,andongoingpatientcarereassessments.
  • Educationofpatientandcaregiver(s).
  • Accuratedocumentationtoensuretimelyandcorrect billing.
  • Directandassistoccupationaltherapystaffas necessary.
  • Provideexceptionalcustomerservicewheninteractingwithpatients, physicians and employees.
  • Providenecessaryeducationalservicesandparticipatesinfacilityin-service activities.
  • Collaborate with other team memberstoensureasafeandcleanworking environment,includingphysicalplant, equipmentmaintenanceand supply inventory levels.
  • Assumeanyotherresponsibilitiesthatmaybeassignedbythe department manager.
