Job Description

Speech-Language Pathologist

The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can assess students in terms of their speech and language skills and provide services to address those needs.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure from the MA DESE as a Speech & Language Therapist.
  • Demonstrated competence, highly qualified, in the area of licensure.

Knowledge Required:

  • Currency in diagnostic and prescriptive evaluation instruments and techniques.
  • Effective planning of caseload and testing of students in a timely manner.
  • Effective presentation of findings orally and in writing.
  • Promotion of high standards and expectations for student proficiency.
  • Promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity.
  • Effective integration of technology.
  • Knowledge of special education paperwork and procedures.
  • Fulfillment of professional responsibilities.

Abilities Required:

  • Ability to evaluate students of all ages.
  • Ability to prescribe services and programs to meet student needs.
  • Ability to administer required student testing and assessments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administrators.
