Job summary

MSD of Lawrence Township seeks a Speech and Language Pathologist to provide direct and indirect services to students within a high-need school setting. The role emphasizes evaluation, MTSS collaboration, and compliance with state licensure and billing procedures.

The position involves teletherapy during extended closures, parent/guardian communication, and coordination with Exceptional Learners leadership to support language development across general education and special education settings.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology with required successful school internship or student teaching completed.
  • Hold and maintain current licensure in Speech and Language Pathology in the state of Indiana in addition to a Indiana Professionals Boards License.

Responsibilities

  • Use current theory and techniques in the field of speech and language pathology (including evaluation)
  • Provide direct and indirect services in the area of speech and language for all students on a caseload as well as students in the MTSS process
  • Work collaboratively with the special education teams at the building in order to help develop positive planning for students
  • Knowledgeable about Assistive Technology to support language and improve academicachievement in general education settings; as well as low tech supports to teach and improve student communication
  • Maintain student records required by law, policies, and administrative procedures
  • appropriately administer, score, and interpret specialized speech and language Assessments
  • Participate on MTSS teams to support students in general education
  • Act as Teacher of Record (TOR) and Teacher of Service (TOS) for students on caseload, maintaining compliance with case conferences
  • Use cultural responsive text and curriculum to support the language development of students.
  • Properly document therapy sessions and remain organized to correctly bill Medicaid
  • In the event of an extended school closure or E-Learning, therapists will conduct teletherapy to maintain services, frequently communication with parent/guardians, and participate in virtual educational team meetings, etc.
  • Performs other assigned duties school leaders as requested
