Qualifications Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Speech and Language or ASHA certification.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Michigan Teacher Consultant Endorsement; AI and EMI preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Experience providing direct services, consultative services and instruction for students with significant communication and learning disorders, including autism.
- Experience with TEACCH, applied behavior analysis, PECS, social skills instruction.
- Knowledge of general education curriculum.
- Experience with augmentative communication devices.
- Experience conducting Functional Analysis of Behavior and writing Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Supervision of Teacher Assistants.
- Data collection and progress monitoring required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Full-time position requiring reliable and predictable attendance on site.
Language Skills
- Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively and present information both orally and in written form.
Reasoning Ability
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of statistical information and data related to student achievement.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Interact with public and other staff as required.
- Apply knowledge of current replicated research and techniques related to sensory issues.
Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally bend or twist at the neck more than average. Sometimes push or lift up to 50 lbs. Must meet multiple demands from several people and interact with public and other staff.
Work Environment
Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
