Job summary

Total Care Therapy in Northeast Ohio seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in assisted living and independent living settings.

You will develop individualized plans, collaborate with physicians and staff, and educate residents and families. Experience in geriatrics and a current SLP license are preferred; CCC-SLP is welcome. We offer a therapist-owned culture, flexible scheduling, and room to grow.

Qualifications

• Current State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license is required.
• CCC-SLP certificate is preferred or eligible.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy plans of care.
• Assess and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Perform dysphagia evaluations and implement swallowing interventions.
• Reassess progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and swallowing precautions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload with compassionate therapy.

Setting: Assisted Living and Independent Living Communities

Available Locations:

Shaker Heights

Scheduling: Monday-Friday ⎸ Part-Time (Weekends available but not required)

Compensation: Per-Visit (based on years of experience)

• Evaluations: $60-$70 Per Visit
• Reassessments: $45-$55 Per Visit
• Treatments: $45-$50 Per Visit
• Recertifications/ Discharges: $50-$60 Per Visit

About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders while developing individualized treatment plans that improve residents' quality of life and functional independence.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy plans of care.
• Assess and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Perform dysphagia evaluations and implement appropriate swallowing interventions.
• Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate residents, caregivers, and facility staff on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, evidence-based therapy services.

Qualifications

• Current State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or eligibility if applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred but not required
