Overview

• Department: Speech and Hearing

• Schedule: Part-Time, Days, 8 hour shift

• Facility: Rumford Hospital

• Location: Rumford, ME 04276

Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. CMH's hospital facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital. CMH also supports Central Maine Medical Group, a primary and specialty care practice organization. Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high‑quality clinical services.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
  2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR – Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP‑CFs) to be considered on a case‑by‑case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
  4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  5. Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
