Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a member of the James Ambulatory Care Team, providing personalized health care to patients in outpatient clinics. The SLP specializes in assessment and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders, contributing to evidence‑based practice research. This professional's specialized knowledge of the larynx uniquely qualifies them to aid in the diagnostic and treatment process with a multidisciplinary team that may include other SLPs, otolaryngologists, pulmonologists, and various other medical professionals. The SLP furthers sub‑specialization in the assessment and treatment of speech, voice, and swallowing disorders related to head and neck cancer.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of voice and swallowing disorders in head and neck cancer patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with otolaryngologists, pulmonologists, and other medical professionals to coordinate care.
  • Engage in evidence‑based practice research and contribute to clinical guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent education and experience.
  • Certified Clinical Competency from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
  • Ohio Licensure in Speech Pathology.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY/SLP) considered an asset.
  • One to two years of experience in a medical setting is preferred.
