Sweetwater Care is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat language, speech, and swallowing disorders across age groups. You will work closely with patients, families, physicians, and educators to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

The role emphasizes evidence-based therapies, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ongoing patient care to improve communication and swallowing functions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders.
  • Certification as speech-language pathologist.
  • BLS certification is required at present; ACLS is preferred.
  • TB screening or test within the last year.
  • Physical examination within the last year.
  • COVID vaccination/clearance.”

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, screen, and treat language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  • Use evidence-based therapies alone and in combination with new techniques.
  • Address articulation, language, fluency, voice/resonance, hearing, and cognitive aspects of communication.
  • Support feeding and swallowing interventions when needed.

Education

Master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders
Certification as speech-language pathologist
BLS certification (required)
ACLS certification (preferred)
TN tuberculosis (TB) within the last year
COVID card

Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.

QUALITFICATIONS

A master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders

Certification as speech-language pathologist

Current BLS (required), ACLS (preferred)

Current TB within the last year

Physical within the last year

COVID card

RESPONSIBLITIES

Alternately referred to as speech therapists, speech-language pathologists (or SLPs) work with children and adults who have problems with communication due to a birth defect, developmental disorder, accident or chronic condition. These professionals evaluate, diagnose and treat clients, taking a comprehensive approach to the individual. Here are some of the areas speech-language pathology addresses:

  • Articulation disorders
  • Language disorders
  • Fluency disorders
  • Voice and resonance disorders
  • Hearing disorders
  • Cognitive aspects of communication
  • Social aspects of communication
  • Augmentative and alternative communication modalities
