Job description

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist - Part-Time

Reports To: Program Manager

FLSA: Exempt

Part-Time Position

The Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve (ESCWR) is considered a public school district/entity under the Governance of the Ohio Department of Education. The ESCWR provides an array of services to support instructional and operational needs within our school districts. Additionally, the ESCWR operates several preschool and special education programs in Geauga and Lake counties, as well as a fiscal agent for several entities and grants.

Summary

Provide speech and language supports to students as indicated by the IEP. School experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Keep informed of trends and issues as well as local, state, and federal mandates/policies relating to speech pathology and special education and provide consultation in these areas to school personnel and families.
  • Travel as needed to deliver services to students.
  • Provide diagnostic, instruction, and evaluation services for students needing speech and language services to include: Identifying students who need services.
  • Developing and implementing plans of intervention.
  • Assist district personnel in providing identified students with speech and language services.
  • Designing appropriate evaluation techniques and instructional programs.
  • Developing Individual Educational Plans.
  • Performing periodic reviews.
  • Developing teaching strategies used in the regular classroom.
  • Organizing/providing in-service programs, technical assistance, and resources for parents, school personnel, students, and other stakeholders involved in speech and language services.
  • Maintaining student progress notes.
  • Maintaining student confidentiality; cautions others regarding potential breaches.
  • Required to establish and maintain a Medicaid billing ID and submit claims on behalf of the District.
  • Attend meetings and complete forms necessary to provide a quality speech and language program for stakeholders.

Education / Experience & Certification

An Ohio Speech Language Pathology Board and Ohio Department of Education license is required. School experience is preferred.

Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 – Criminal Records Check.

Drug Testing

Must pass a drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
