Job Overview – Speech Language Pathologist

Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000/year
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist in Bronx, NY for our client, supporting speech therapy, language development, communication disorders, and educational services for pediatric students within a school‑based setting. This role will work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families to evaluate communication needs and develop individualized treatment plans that support student success. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children across a range of developmental and educational needs.

Responsibilities as the Speech Language Pathologist:
  • Evaluations & Assessments: Conduct speech, language, communication, and related evaluations while developing recommendations based on individual student needs.
  • Therapy Services: Design and implement individualized therapy plans utilizing evidence‑based interventions and treatment techniques.
  • IEP Support: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student goals.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with educators, therapists, families, and support staff to coordinate services and optimize student outcomes.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, treatment records, and required educational documentation.
  • Program Advocacy: Support classroom communication programs, participate in meetings, and advocate for student needs within educational and community settings.
Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist:
  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Speech Language Pathology license is required.
  • Certification: New York State Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) or Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) certification is required.
  • Experience: Experience providing speech and language services within pediatric, educational, early intervention, or school‑based settings is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with clinical documentation systems, Microsoft Office applications, and educational record management platforms is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, collaboration, clinical reasoning, relationship-building, and organizational skills are required. Bilingual language skills are preferred.
