Job summary

Responsibilities

• Utilize a range of tools to identify student needs and progress

The candidate should have experience and a demonstrated ability to:

• Work with a range of low incidence disabilities (cognitive impairments and autism spectrum disorders)
• Provide direct service to individuals and groups of students in both self-contained program and general education settings
• Be comfortable with a wide range of strategies and demonstrate knowledge and use of assistive technology /augmentative communication devices
• Use classroom observations in order to identify strengths and weaknesses in the language abilities of elementary aged students
• Use a wide range of tools, tasks and instruments to assist with identifying strengths and weaknesses of students
• Communicate well both orally and in written form to team members and sensitively to parents
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers and other team members
• Make solid, classroom-based recommendations based on research
• Resolve conflicts, problem solve difficult issues, appreciate differences of opinion
