Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to deliver direct therapy to students under IEPs and 504 plans, aligned with district policies. You will assess, treat, and report on language, speech, voice, fluency, and pragmatics within a school setting.

The role requires ISBE licensure with SLP endorsement and a Master's degree; ASHA CCC is preferred. Collaboration with MTSS and teachers is essential to support students’ language development.

Qualifications

  • ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Speech/Language Therapy.
  • Master's Degree from accredited university.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about language acquisition.
  • Flexible, excellent interpersonal communication skills, a positive attitude, to promote the speech and language needs of students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality direct speech-language therapy services to students according to IEPs, 504 plans or other intervention plans.
  • Conduct assessments, analyze results, and write reports on speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, and language.
  • Ensure evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery align with district policies and state/federal guidelines.
  • Participate in MTSS problem solving processes.
  • Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected speech/language delays.
  • Consult with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum modifications and accommodations.
  • Ensure skills generalize across settings by collaborating with teachers and related service providers.
  • Complete treatment notes and progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Document all aspects of work with students per school/state guidelines.
  • Maintain confidential records and provide timely progress reports as required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas such as speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, and language.
  • Ensuring evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school district policies as well as state and federal guidelines.
  • Participating in the Problem Solving Process through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
  • Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders.
  • Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement of curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies and accommodations.
  • Ensuring students' skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and other related service providers.
  • Completing treatment notes and progress reports in timely manner in accordance to school policy.
  • Documenting all aspects of work with students according to school and state guidelines.
  • Maintaining appropriate, confidential, records and provide timely reports of progress, consistent with legal mandates and district policy.
  • Keeping abreast of best practices in speech and language therapy and language development and implementing best practices in compliance with district policy, Federal Laws, and State Regulations.
  • Participating in the collaborative process with speech/language therapist colleagues through participation in regularly scheduled Speech/Language Pathologist meetings.
  • Engaging parents and families in their student's learning.
  • Contributing productively to the school as a whole.
