Job summary

Allegria Village in Dearborn is seeking a Per Diem Speech Pathologist for our Skilled Nursing Facility to support resident care. You will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing needs under physician direction.

State licensure is required; a Masters or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred. Strong communication and compassionate care are essential in this team-focused SNF environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Masters, or Doctorate in Speech language Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
• Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Screens and evaluates Resident and develops appropriate care plan
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Responsibilities:

Education/Certification

• Graduate of an accredited Masters, or Doctorate in Speech language Pathology.
• State license as a speech pathologist required.
• Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
