Speech and Language Pathologist

Location: Kenneth L. Hermansen Elementary School.

Position Type: Special Education / Speech-Language Pathologist.

Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide students with consult, integrated, and direct services to support their speech goals as outlined in each student's IEP. Responsibilities include conducting screening and assessments as part of the IEP/evaluation process, writing and implementing Individual Educational Plans, and collaborating with teachers, parents and student resource teams to ensure effective communication. The role may also involve modifying instructional materials for assigned classrooms and performing any additional duties in accordance with district policies.

Qualifications
  • Current Illinois Teaching (PEL) Professional Educator Licensure endorsed with Speech Language Pathologist
  • Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (preferred)
  • Ability to write and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP's)
  • Excellent communication skills with students, teachers, parents and student resource team, and a willingness to spend the time to ensure such communication occurs
  • Ability to assist in modifying instructional materials for students in assigned classroom
