Job summary

Greater Lawrence Technical School is seeking a collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech and language services to high school students with communication disorders. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA/CAA-accredited program.
  • Massachusetts Initial or Professional License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and MA Special Education Regulations (603 CMR 28.00).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic language using formal and informal measures.
  • Prepare evaluation reports and determine eligibility for speech-language services.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and monitor IEP goals.
  • Provide direct and consultative speech-language services in various settings per IEPs.
  • Monitor progress, collect data, and prepare timely progress reports.
  • Participate in evaluations, reevaluations, and special education meetings.
  • Support classroom accommodations and AAC when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and ensure compliance with regulations.

Job Description

Greater Lawrence Technical School is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech and language services to high school students with communication disorders. The SLP will provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and collaboration services to support students in achieving academic, vocational, social, and post-secondary success. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a highly collaborative Special Education team in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) high school setting.

0.5 FTE position offers flexibility in scheduling, making it an excellent opportunity for clinicians seeking part-time employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Massachusetts Initial or Professional License in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders.
  • Adherence to the ASHA Code of Ethics.
  • Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • School-based experience, preferably at the secondary level.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Massachusetts Special Education Regulations (603 CMR 28.00).
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and consulting with teachers and families.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, fluency, pragmatic language, and communication disorders using formal and informal assessment measures.
  • Prepare written evaluation reports and determine eligibility for speech-language services in accordance with IDEA and Massachusetts Special Education Regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Team to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' communication needs.
  • Develop measurable annual IEP goals and objectives aligned with student needs.
  • Provide direct and consultative speech-language services in individual, small-group, and classroom settings as specified in students' IEPs.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and prepare progress reports according to district reporting timelines.
  • Participate in initial evaluations, reevaluations, annual reviews, manifestation determination meetings, and other special education meetings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, vocational instructors, special education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Provide consultation regarding classroom accommodations, communication strategies, and assistive technology, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), when appropriate.
  • Support students in developing communication skills necessary for academic achievement, vocational programming, cooperative education placements, and post-secondary transition.
  • Maintain accurate service logs, evaluation records, progress documentation, and other required records while ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA, IDEA, and district policies.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain required licensure and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

EVALUATION:

The performance of the Speech-Language Pathologist will be evaluated per the GLTS Teacher Contract.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $68,145 to $118,145 Per Year
