Reports to: Executive Director of School and Family Support Services or designee

Salary Range: $47,203- $99,022 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time,10-Month

Position Overview

Diagnoses communicative disorders, plans, directs and participates in individual or group therapy sessions which focus on the remediation of specific articulation problems.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, identify, and provide evidence-based speech-language services for students with communication disorders that impact educational performance, participating as a member of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) and developing individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy, monitor student progress, and implement instructional strategies and accommodations that support communication development and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers to provide guidance, referrals, assistive technology recommendations, and communication strategies that support student achievement.
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring; prepare evaluation reports, maintain accurate records, and complete all required documentation, including Medicaid billing, in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.

Promote inclusive learning environments by providing consultation, professional guidance, and resources related to speech, language, hearing, voice, and fluency development to support students across educational settings.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 061
  • Must hold a valid CT Dept. of Public Health license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Preferred Requirements

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
