Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate language abilities, auditory processing, and speech production, and to treat patients with speech, language, voice, hearing, and swallowing disorders. The role focuses on helping individuals establish an optimal functional communication system to express needs.

Required qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, a current SLP license, and BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology required.
• Current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist required or compliant with state practice act; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days; ASHA Certification preferred.
• Positions in Home Care require a valid driver’s license with vehicle available and insurance as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Measure and evaluate language abilities, auditory processing, and speech production.
• Conduct treatment for speech, language, voice, hearing, and swallowing disorders as applicable.
• Assist patients in establishing an optimal functional communication system to express needs.

Summary:
The Speech and Language Pathologist role measures and evaluates language abilities, auditory processes, and speech production, and/or conducts treatment of persons with speech, language, voice, hearing, and swallowing disorders. Assists the patient in establishing an optimal functional communication system to express physical, emotional, and social needs.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology required.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Speech-Language Pathologist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
3. Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20to $104,353.60per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
