Job summary

Tutor Me LA LLC is seeking a passionate In-Home Special Education Tutor to provide personalized tutoring for neurodivergent students in their homes across California. This part-time role allows you to start with one student and expand your hours as you take on more students.

You will lead engaging sessions tailored to diverse learning needs, implement IEP-aligned lesson plans, and foster supportive relationships with students and their families. Candidates with a strong background in special education and bilingual skills are preferred.

Overview

At Tutor Me Education, we connect passionate educators with neurodivergent students for high-impact, 1:1 in-home tutoring. As an In-Home Special Education Tutor, you'll deliver personalized academic instruction, socio-emotional support, and patient behavioral guidance aligned to each student's learning style and IEP goals — in the student’s home. This is a flexible, part-time W-2 employee role. Start with one student (2-10 hrs/week) and take on additional students to grow hours and income.

Pay: $25-$35+ per hour, based on credentials, specialization, and the needs of the student. Higher rates apply for credentialed or specialized tutors, higher-need cases, and bilingual matches.

Hours and Location: 2-10 hrs/week to start, in-home across California. Room to grow.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to students with diverse learning needs

• Adapt academic materials to each student\'s learning profile
• Track progress after each session and maintain open, empathetic communication with parents/guardians
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence and resilience

Who We\'re Looking For

• AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
• Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) — currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
• Empathy, patience, and a student-first approach
• Reliable vehicle for local travel to client homes
• Ability to pass a background check
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a strong plus — premium rates available for bilingual matches
