Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• 6+ months of teaching, tutoring, coaching or advising youth.
• Understanding of urban students' challenges and diverse communities.
• Demonstrated passion and commitment to student success.
• Excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Strong communication with students, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Ability to commute to Albany, NY and move within a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Special Education teachers to support each student's needs.
• Provide direct support in classrooms, resource rooms, and learning environments.
• Assist in developing and implementing instructional activities.
• Monitor progress and document observations for supervising teachers.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment for social-emotional growth.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy laws and policies.
• Assist with organization and management of classroom materials.
• Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and administrators to support student development.
• Attend trainings and meetings to enhance professional skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
