Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago seeks a licensed teacher with LBS1 endorsement to lead instruction, monitor progress, and manage classrooms within CPS frameworks.

Under the supervision of the principal, you will collaborate with case managers and general education teachers to tailor instruction for students with diverse needs, ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment and ongoing student growth.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to select learning objectives and design instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures, accommodating diverse learners.
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to support students’ instructional and social needs.
• Respond to student needs with engaging instruction and appropriately challenging questions and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with administration, colleagues, families, and students, upholding professional judgment.
• Prioritize student safety and adherence to the Student Code of Conduct across all lessons.
