Chicago Public Schools seeks qualified teachers to join our urban district committed to advancing equity and student success. Under the principal’s supervision, you will lead instructional planning, progress monitoring, and classroom management for assigned students.

The role requires a valid Illinois teaching license with LBS1 endorsements, a Bachelor's degree or higher, and completion of the CPS online application. Join CPS to contribute to high-quality education in Chicago neighborhoods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Complete the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role (LBS1).

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design coherent instruction and assessments.
• Establish a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and classroom procedures.
• Design engaging instruction with appropriately challenging questions and assessment alignment.
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication with administration, colleagues, and families.
• Uphold Student Code of Conduct and school-wide safety and discipline systems.
• Personalize student learning through curriculum resources and technology as available.
• Advocate for equity and district themes of high expectations and inclusive practices.
