Applitrack seeks a Special Education Classroom teacher to lead an elementary program at Washington McKinley School. The role requires an Illinois State Teaching Credential for K-8 in a self-contained setting and an endorsed specialization in Special Education.
You will establish a positive classroom environment, develop IEP-based instruction, and collaborate with parents and school staff to support student growth and learning outcomes.
TITLE: Special Education Classroom
QUALIFICATIONS: An appropriate, valid, Illinois State Teaching Credential to teach grades K-8 in a self-contained classroom. Special Education teachers must hold an endorsement in their assigned area.
JOB SUMMARY: To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper grade education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Special Services, and other administrative personnel.
SUPERVISES: Classroom assistants, when applicable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, benefits, and work year as established in the Teachers' Contract.
SALARY RANGE: $49,144 - $60,348. Salary commensurate with experience.
