Job summary

Valley View School District 365-U seeks a full-time Special Education Program Paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 year. Under licensed staff supervision, you will support students with disabilities across settings to aid educational, functional, and social development.

Responsibilities include assisting with academic tasks, transitions, IEP-based support, record-keeping, and collaboration with teachers. A valid IL Paraprofessional license and a HS diploma with 30 college credits are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License for Paraprofessional Educator.
• HS Diploma or equivalent with 30 college credits.
• Ability to support students with disabilities and follow IEPs.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students with academic tasks and functional skills.
• Supervise and assist students during transitions and activities.
• Provide support per IEPs for academic, functional, and behavioral needs.
• Assist with scheduling, curriculum adaptations, and educational environments.
• Record-keeping of student progress and attendance as needed.
• Implement classroom management to ensure safe, supportive learning.
• Prepare and distribute educational materials as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan instructional activities.
• Support students with assistive devices and technology use (e.g., Google Suite).
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
