Job summary

Valley View Public School Cusd 365 U is seeking a full-time Special Education Program Paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 school year at Wood View Elementary School. The paraprofessional supports students with disabilities under licensed staff supervision across settings, following IEPs and district policies.

Responsibilities include academic and behavioral support, small-group instruction, record-keeping, and collaboration with teachers to adapt curriculum and prepare activities.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License with stipulations for Paraprofessional Educator
• HS Diploma or equivalent with 30 college hours
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with students with special needs
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with academic tasks and functional skills as assigned by teacher/clinician
• Supervise students with transitions in classroom and settings
• Provide academic, functional, and behavioral support per IEPs
• Assist with communication, scheduling, and adaptations of curriculum
• Work with students individually or in small groups
• Assist with record-keeping to track student progress
• Implement classroom management to ensure safety and engagement
• Collaborate with teachers to coordinate instructional plans
• Use Google Suite and assistive tech to support students
• Attend staff meetings and professional development
• Assist students with assistive devices and facilities access
• Implement behavioral modification and sensory breaks under supervision
