Job summary

Fernley High School in Lyon County School District is seeking a SPED Resource Teacher for 2026/27 to support students with disabilities in a self-contained setting. The role emphasizes functional curricula across domestic, vocational, recreational, and community domains.

Responsibilities include implementing evidence-based instruction, maintaining PowerSchool records, and collaborating with staff to meet IEP goals and district standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred.
• Must possess or be able to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow mandated compliance standards established by the Federal, the State, or the District regulations relative to program development and implementation.
• Maintain appropriate student records and submit required reports; ensure confidentiality and compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Provide instruction with research-based methods for functional curriculum domains (domestic, vocational, recreational, community, functional academics).
• Maintain PowerSchool records and communicate effectively with families and staff.
