Job summary

Muskegon Heights Public School Academy seeks a dedicated SPED Resource Room Teacher to support students with special needs. You will develop and implement IEPs and provide targeted one-on-one and small-group instruction.

Collaborate with regular education teachers and SPED staff to ensure an inclusive, cohesive educational experience; maintain progress records and communicate with parents about student growth and concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field; Masters preferred.
• Michigan teacher certificate with SA/SC/SE/SM endorsements.
• Experience with students having learning disabilities and IEPs.
• Knowledge of SPED laws and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to support student learning.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers and SPED staff for a cohesive educational experience.
• Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and information.
• Communicate with parents and stakeholders about student progress and concerns.
• Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
