Job summary

Boston Public Schools at Charlestown High in Boston, MA, is seeking a Paraprofessional to support a SPED Autistic Programs classroom for grades 7-12. This is a temporary vacancy ending when the current paraprofessional returns; start date is To Be Determined, and the role reports to the Principal.

The paraprofessional will assist with direct instruction, prepare instructional materials, manage classroom behavior, supervise field trips, and help with setup and cleanup.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or ParaPro/WorkKeys passing score.
• Minimum two years experience with young children.
• US work authorization by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Assists with classroom activities and prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom setup and cleanup; manages individual and classroom behavior.
• Supervises students on field trips and supports overall classroom operations.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
