Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, required.
• An associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved college or university is required.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university.
• A valid Professional Standards Commission-approved paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical and personal care needs per IEP and district policy.
• Provides direct instructional support and small group or one‑on‑one instruction under teacher supervision.
• Supports classroom management and behavior by assisting teachers with routines and classroom tasks.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records and contributes to progress monitoring and data collection.
