Job summary

Caledonia Community Schools is seeking a Level 2 Paraprofessional (Special Education-Emotional Impairment) at Kettle Lake Elementary. You will assist with educational and social development, support IEPs, and help students with self-help, behavioral management, and instructional programs.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with college coursework optional. Experience with disabilities is preferred; the position includes 32.5 hours/week, benefits, and state retirement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics essential
• Experience with students or individuals with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under supervision
• Support students inside and outside the classroom to participate in activities
• Help students develop appropriate social skills
• Monitor and assist with behavioral management as needed
• Adapt to each student’s communication, emotional, instructional, medical, physical, sensory, and social needs
• Assist with transferring to/from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning when applicable
• Assist with personal care and monitoring of medical devices as needed
• Communicate respectfully with students, staff, and parents
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies
