Job summary

NOLA Public Schools seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist the certified SPED teacher in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and behavioral strategies. You will support students with diverse learning needs in general and special education settings, including during transitions.

Responsibilities include small-group reteaching, data collection, and aiding with testing accommodations, while maintaining FERPA confidentiality and a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a high school diploma and pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment to be considered a highly qualified paraprofessional.
• Complete a minimum of 48 semester credit hours (equivalent to two years of full-time study).
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
• Support individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and implement interventions.
• Provide support to students with disabilities in various classroom settings and during transitions.
