Job summary

Panola Way ES is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. The role emphasizes implementing high academic expectations and collaborating with team members, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential duties include providing small group or individualized instruction, assisting with classroom management, and aiding in assessment and materials preparation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.
• High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment is required.
• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students as per lesson plans.
• Assists teachers with classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance and related recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists with development and organization of instructional materials for use with students.
