Job summary

PODER Academy Elementary School invites applications for a SPED Paraprofessional for the 2025/2026 school year. This full-time position supports students ages 5-12 with academic and social-emotional needs, assists with small group and one-on-one instruction, and helps maintain a positive classroom environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or higher, can pass a background check, and value collaboration with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher required.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Passion and/or experience working with ages 5-12.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (not required).
• Substitute License (not required, but will be beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and individual instruction, conduct data review, extra sanitation, academic support, classroom coverage, & social/emotional support as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill students’ academic & social/emotional needs
• Be a self-motivated team player, ready to support needs of students, staff, and overall school

The Mission

PODER Elementary is an innovative college-prep school focused on proficiency. Student scores in the core subjects exceed national and state averages.

Position Summary

PODER Elementary is a small-school environment where teachers track individual students and tailor instruction accordingly. There is a heavy focus on classroom management where behavior disruptions are minimized. Seeking creative minds who enjoy supporting students’ academic and social/emotional needs.

Qualifications
