Job summary

Instructional Assistant, SpEd CASL (Grades 7-8) at College Station ISD is seeking a paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in a special education setting. You will assist in behavior management, IEP goals, and instructional activities under the supervision of certified staff.

Reports to the Principal and Teachers, with duties across campus. Requires a High School Diploma and crisis intervention/behavior management training as provided by the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Participation in district provided crisis intervention training.
• Participation in district provided behavior management training.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, secure, learning environment.
• Assist in implementation of behavior intervention plan and IEP goals.
• Help manage behavior of students, including crisis interventions when needed.
• Adapt to each student’s medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground duties.
• Maintain confidential information and assist in preparing reports.
