Job summary

College Station ISD is seeking an Instructional Assistant for SpEd Adaptive Behavior (Grades 9-12) to support students with disabilities under the supervision of licensed staff. The role focuses on behavior management, crisis intervention, and implementing educational programs within the classroom setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma, strong communication skills, and a willingness to participate in district crisis and behavior training. 187 days of service with non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Some experience with children and implementing instructional strategies and behavior plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, secure, learning environment.
• Assist teacher in implementation of behavior intervention plan and IEP goals.
• Help manage behavior of students, including crisis situations.
• Supervise students during the school day (lunch, bus, playground).
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist with records and reports.
• Support substitute teachers and participate in staff development.
