Job summary

College Station ISD is seeking an Instructional Assistant, SpEd CASL (Grades 9-12) to support a special education program. Primary duties include assisting in physical and instructional needs, aiding in behavior management, crisis intervention, and implementing classroom programs under the supervision of certificated staff.

The role involves supervision of students, assisting with IEP goals, maintaining records, preparing instructional materials, and participating in staff development.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Required participation in district provided crisis intervention training.
• Required participation in district provided behavior management training.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, secure, learning environment.
• Assist teacher in implementation of behavior intervention plan and IEP goals.
• Help manage behavior of students including crisis intervention when needed.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist with administrative records.
