Job summary

Wichita Public Schools is seeking a Para Sped Low Incidence to assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and supporting students with low-incidence disabilities for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role focuses on instructional assistance, behavior support, safety, and collaboration with staff and families to ensure positive student outcomes. Candidates should be flexible, capable of supervising students, and able to operate within the school setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Paras in Title School must have 48 accredited college credits verified or pass state assessment.
• Must pass Physical Capacity Test (PCP).
• Knowledge of sign language modalities, Braille, NCI or other special skills may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in class per teacher/director.
• Assist in routines and procedures.
• Assist with behavior interventions and document occurrences.
• Support students with daily activities, mobility and safety.
• Contribute to IEP planning support and instructional materials.
• Assist in preparing learning centers and instructional materials.
• Communicate with students, parents and staff as directed by supervisor.
