Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a SPED Para II Lifeskills for elementary and secondary education. The role provides support to the instructional program under the direction of a classroom teacher, assisting with supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs. Two positions available in Central and South areas.

Hours: 5.5 hours per day (25 hours per week), hourly rate $17.67. Must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 16+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities to support objectives and IEP goals under supervising teacher.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Assists students with self-care activities.
• Attends job-specific trainings for the purpose of acquiring and conveying information.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Communicates with supervising instructional staff for evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans under supervision of assigned teacher for students with behavior disorders.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
• Monitors students during assigned periods to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities to reinforce learning and IEP plans.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations for job-related information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
