Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a Special Education Para-Educator II to support Lifeskills and SPED students under a classroom teacher’s supervision. The role involves assisting with instruction, behavior management, and daily living activities in either regular or self-contained settings.

The position is non-contract with no benefits, 5.5 hours per day, and an hourly rate of $17.67. 16+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent is required; job-related experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the supervision of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional for the purpose of meeting health care needs.
• Assists students with self-care activities for the purpose of maintaining personal hygiene.
• Collects data for the purpose of supporting teachers and preparing reports.
• Communicates with supervising instructional staff for evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for ensuring availability and compliance.
• Monitors students during assigned periods for safety and positive learning environment.
• Provides instruction to students in a variety of activities for reinforcing objectives and ensuring success.
