Job summary

Mesa County Valley School District 51 is seeking a SPED Generalist to support students with moderate disabilities at Bookcliff Middle School. You will provide specially designed instruction, develop IEP-based services, and collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and service providers to promote inclusion and progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree is required.
Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Education Generalist endorsement required.
Quality Behavior Solutions (QBS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Instructional Planning and Delivery: plan and implement instructional programs aligned to IEPs.
IEP Implementation and Student Progress: monitor IEP goals and progress with data.
Learning Environment and Student Support: maintain structured, safe learning environment; supervise behavior.
Collaboration and Communication: engage families and staff; participate in IEP meetings.
Staff Coordination and Scheduling: direct paraprofessional staff and scheduling to meet IEP needs.
Professional Responsibilities: participate in required trainings and document compliance.
Other Duties: additional tasks as needed.
