Job summary

Wonderful College Prep Academy in California’s Central Valley is hiring a Special Education Instructional Assistant to support lead teachers and students in classrooms and other settings, including lunch and recess. The role emphasizes high expectations and belief in students’ potential.

Responsibilities include 1:1/small group instruction, behavior and medical needs support, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, required
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred
• Substitute Permit, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish/English, preferred
• Experience with school-aged children, especially with special needs

Responsibilities

• Supports a vision of excellence for all students, with urgency to maximize opportunities
• Provides 1:1 or small group instruction as needed
• Supports classroom learning and interventions
• Assists with supervision before, during, and after school
• Administers first aid or necessary physical assistance to students
• May assist with toileting and diapering; may administer prescribed medication
• Participates in professional development and planning sessions
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
